Independence
No app we cover owns, funds or edits this site. Partners can point out factual errors, but they never see or approve a review before publication, and they cannot buy a ranking position, a score or the removal of a flaw.
How we write
- Short answer first. Every page opens with a two-sentence answer.
- One flaw minimum. Every app card and review names at least one real weakness.
- Prices with a date. Every price is the listed US price on the app’s checkout page, with the date we checked it.
- Sources. Facts about laws, studies and incidents link to or name their source.
- Plain English and no hype words.
Hands-on status
Our reviews are based on paid-account tests (see how we test). When a test is still running, the page says so clearly and the score is marked as provisional.
Updates and corrections
Money pages are re-checked at least once a month. The “Last updated” date shows the last real change, not a cosmetic one. If we get something wrong, we fix it and, for anything material, add a short correction note at the bottom of the page.
Adult content and safety
This site is for adults (18+). We never show explicit images. We do not cover or link to apps that allow images of real people without consent, and we do not target searches used by minors. Pages about adult apps show a one-click 18+ confirmation.
Wellbeing
AI companions are software, not people. We mention crisis resources where relevant: in the US, call or text 988.
